    Too Hot to Skate

YES! I've FINALLY watched that free skate!!! (but not the whole video) haha altho' he lost to Brian Orser for it, I still think it was really good. ^^ yeah he looked a bit lethargic... but he wasnt feeling well (rmb the ear infection?)... mm... one of the rare numbers where he doesnt really smile at all... man he must have been feeling lousy. poor boy... :( ahhh I want to hear them interview him!!! lolz... so greedy right. ;)

anyway, was watching some of the other videos and the comments some of the people have put up are really hilarious. yeah man Scotty is waaaay too hot. and ohohoh I've realized the beauty of the print screen function. ROCKS man. much better than sifting through tons of photos on google trying to find a decent photo of Scott. ^^ and Jing Yi! I agree with you that there's smth about middle-aged men that make us go gaga. LoLz. ^-^

some interesting comments about his numbers:

from Hair (Stars on Ice): ohh my bad mouth i need to shut my bad mouth ... can't tell what i would like to do with this guy uhhh scottie is a hottie damn that perfprmance was pure sex ohh scottie i want to give you my head with my long dark hair .. oh he's so great man

from Walk this Way (1995 Legends Championship): Watching him skate is like good sex.

haha! what are these people thinking man! but yeah Scotty is so darn hot. He's not really like the kind of "WOW SO HANDSOME!" kind of guy, but he sure is charismatic! oh Scott is like the hottest cutie I've ever seen. yes I still love my Dan-Dan (Donnie Yen), but Dan-Dan isnt a cutie, he's a HUNK you see. lolz. Wukong isnt a cutie either, he's just plain handsome. ^^

kkz. Since I've titled this article as "Too Hot to Skate", after the Stars on Ice 1995-1996 Season at Las Vegas, here's Scott's programme "I Love Me". still trying to find a recording of the song, cos the lyrics are really cute. ^^ the images arent very sharp cos. yeah itz from YouTube... anyway:

first clear screenshot I could get. this is slightly after the starting.

    ab-bootie shaking!

"I know that you love me, and being able to meet me, is truly ecstacy!" Scott stopping in front of the audience -screaming in the background from the audience-

gimmick! yeah finally we're able to see him better... since his coat was dark blue and the only thing on him was a faint spotlight. haha... preparing for the riiiimba!!

JUMP SPLIT!! finally managed to get a screenshot of this jump, the rest were too small... and look at the height of the jump!

    Scott preparing to get emotional.

Scott preparing to -gasps- undo his shirt!! -some screams from the audience-

Scott looking like he's preparing for an autopsy rather than striping. HAHA. HE'S SO HOT. -hell lot of screaming from the audience-

"Fee--eeelings... wo-oh-oh-oh-oh feeelings... wo-oh-oh-oh (cant figure out the words)..." Scott putting on an emo display.

Scott licking his upper lip and preparing to flirt with the cameraman. haha...

butterfly jump. man look at the HEIGHT of that jump. gosh I've been doing butterfly for quite some time and I still cant do it lor... Scott is just so athletic. yes you cant really see his legs bcos they're in the air.

"I Love ME, I love ME! ME! ME! ME!!!! *pause* YAH!" lolz ending of the programme. perfect timing.

A very tired Scott (at least he looks out of breath) connecting with the audience.

"Itz hot in here!" of cos Scott the rink was open-air! LoLz. somehow this reminds me of Amano Ginji from GetBackers. :|

Scott with the gorgeous Rosalyn Summers (in black) and the beautiful Katarina Witt (in white)

the naughty boy trying to get fresh with Katarina, who looks too glad to let him do so! haha... Ros looking a bit left-out... GOSH I couldnt help wishing I was Katarina when I was watching this... :

Scott now trying to take advantage of Ros and dazzle her with his electric eyes...

but ends up being taken advantage of instead! lolz he actually looked a bit embarassed when Ros tried to stroke his chest! CUTE!

Scott being escorted off the ice by the 2 beautiful ladies (actually it was more like Katarina dragging him off) "I love. my job. Gd nite everybody!!" awww he's so cute! there's Ros twiddling with his hair and Katarina pulling him by the waist... no actually it looks like the hips! OMG I wish I was in her place!

ok I've screenshots for a few more numbers as well, including one where Scott still had all his hair... haha... but maybe another day... oh man I just love this guy. ^-^

BTW. If you're intending to kope any of these screenshots (I emphasize the word IF, cos I dun think itz possible), tho' I highly doubt how you're gonna do that since they dun open in another window (cos I dunno how to make them do that). but ANYWAY. just give me some credit for it if you do k, cos it is time consuming to have to replay and replay a video just to get a screenshot manually. and whilst you're at it, give YouTube some credit too, cos thatz where I got the screenshots from. :P

and just in case you were wondering, the "prepare to jump" is the comments button. :)

    SCOTT ROCKS! :D

    Pissed off.

I AM EXTREMELY PISSED OFF RIGHT NOW.

It is bad enough that I am still an unemployed youth with no income wadsoever and now YOUTUBE HAS TO DIE ON ME. WTH. MY ONLY SOURCE OF ENTERTAINMENT DEMMIT. raaaaaa. :@ totally pissed off.

itz like. I cant even WATCH anything. I WANT TO WATCH SCOTT'S FREE SKATE AT THE OLYMPICS DEMMIT. I WANT TO WATCH HUNGARIAN N HAIR DEMMIT. I WANT TO WATCH WEN QING'S CHUDGEL ROUTINE N THE DRUNKEN BOXING SPARRING DEMMIT. RAAAAA!!!!!! everything seems fine but the videos just refuse to load! as in. it'll start loading and stay stationary for a while (probably like load 1s of the video) b4 poof! the red bar will fill up (usu indicating the video finished loading le) but then it'll only play for 1s then stop! no amt of refreshing the pg will cause it load just a bit more! the record for Scott's free skate video was lemme see... 10s? OUT OF 8min smth DEMMIT. I know he lost to orser for the free skate BUT THAT DOESNT MEAN I CANT WATCH IT. RAAAAA.

then I emailed YouTube to tell them the problem (which is probably smth wrong with my computer) but any reply? NOOOO.... so I tried downloading it from savetube and a hell lot of other sites but did it work? NOOOO.... it was bad enuf that the download speed was like 4+KB/s (LOOK SINGLE DIGIT SPEED. KILOBYTE SOMEMORE.) for a video that was only under 2MB and wadz worse is that it'll load halfway then tell me that SORRY HOR THEY REALIZE THEY CANT LOAD THE DEM THING. wthwthwthwthwthwthwthwthwth!!!!!

and YouTube is like THE place to watch ice skating videos! RAAAA!!! grrr... so now I'm searching on google. GOOGLE DEMMIT. like hello I know itz smth wrong with my computer but at least have the courtesy to help me know exactly WHAT is wrong with it right? BAH! (and it sure doesnt help that the videos I want date all the way back to 1980. :S) worse still, when does mediacorp EVER show skating programmes? THEY WUN EVEN SHOW THE FULL EVENT AT THE OLYMPICS DEMMIT. oh yar they wun even show our own athletes performing at ANY of the games we take part in apart from TABLE TENNIS DEMMIT. RAAAA!!!!

    -pants-

wth. I think I'm pmsing very badly now. I just feel like killing someone. grrr. ah well at least I still have 2 DVDs (with only TWO Scott programmes.. NOT ENUF!!!), one VHS (of SOI, like duh) and one VHS of the 2006 Winter Games exhibition. NOT ENOUGH NOT ENOUGH!!!! ok. look on the bright side look on the bright side... there's Skating with Celebrities today! tho' I think dear Kurt is gonna get kicked out of the competition soon. :( and tho' darling Scott is not going to be skating, at least I can see him all the way until the series end bcos he's the host! :D:D:D pity he has so little on-screen time. :(

ahhhh PLEASE LET ME USE YOUTUBE PROPERLY. I WANT TO WATCH THAT FREE SKATE!!!!! raaa.

    Last thoughts

as 2006 draws to a close... last thoughts about this year... anyway b4 that. celebrated my grandma's bdae one day earlier today. just got back. it was pretty amazing to see my cousin Kelvin with his wife and daughter. oh my baby niece Victoria is ohhhhh soooooo cutttteeeee!!!!! she has my cousin Kelvin's eyes!! and she's so small... only 7 months old, she has big eyes, chubby cheeks, a tiny nose, tiny ears, a tiny mouth, tiny hands, tiny feet, tiny fingers... awww kawaiiiiiiii!!!!!!! haha pity she was more interested in my handphone than in me. -_-" and it felt a bit weird talking to my cousin-in-law Soo Wee, whom I have not seen in 10 yrs. haha yes my cousin Kelvin is the cousin who'd dated his girl (now my cousin-in-law) since they were in JC. probably will only have her (meaning my baby niece Victoria) photo up in a couple of months time... since I dunno how to transfer the one in my handphone to the computer... so yea must wait till CNY.

i think the cutest moment was when the manager woman said (in Chinese): "come come blow out the candles..." then my baby niece immediately responded by sneezing! CUUTTTEEEE!!! n she was right behind my grandma, who was right in front of the cake! very timely! ^^ ^^ ^^ ^^ ^^ ah well, my grandma was supposed to be the most important person today, since well. we are celebrating her bdae. in the end, it was baby Victoria who stole all the limelight cos she's just sooooo CUTE!! then everyone wanted to play with her, leaving my poor grandma munching cake all by herself. =_=""

ok back to the "end-of-year" thingie. had this on my mind all year, but only managed to write it down at the restaurant just now. btw I finally got a haircut yesterday, which was what triggered this melancholy in the first place. so here goes...

who said that having a haircut was smth painful?

2 yrs of no-haircuts, yet it didnt hurt at all. my head didnt feel lighter or anything. after all, they were just dead cells. no. they're not even cells in the 1st place, just mere keratin strands. alpha-helices? I was blank as that talkative hairdresser (trying to be nice here) snipped away rather tentatively at the hair (keratin strands) that had been with me for 2 yrs.

back when I knew you dear.

I cut them away. so now they are going to slowly break down into polypeptide chains and perhaps amino acid subunits. at least they're biodegradable. but will the chemicals I've been washing them with these past 2 yrs be harmful to the little bacteria?

    is keratin biodegradable dear?

I dunno. and I dun wanna ask. If hair is biodegradable, then what about the strands I saw back in the 13 tombs museum in Beijing? If it isnt, where does all the hair that falls off go to? like darling Scott's hair. where did they all go to? what state are they in now?

I dunno dear, and I dun think I'll ever find out.

Keratin. keratin. keratin. where does keratin come from? enzymes. then where do enzymes come from? no they both come from ribosomes and mRNA. then where do these come from? where did the 1st cell come from? does Darwin's theory only apply to existing cells?  I think I noe why so many people take to the idea of intelligent design so ezily. itz too convenient. honestly speaking, it is scary to imagine unicellular organisms slowly but gradually morphing into the complex diverse multicellular species we know today. and why did the blind designer of evolution leave so many unicellular organisms as single cells if we all arose from the same unicellular ancestors?

is that why we say the world is unfair? when we talk about karma, itz always about turning into wild animals, which are complex and multicellular as well. why doesnt anyone say: "if you trample on other people, u'll become a bacterium in your next life and be trampled on by air molecules and dust particles?" or: "if you pollute the environment, u'll become a methane molecule and be doomed to combustion in a combustion engine. before turning into carbon dioxide and water and then be recycled over and over again." ?

itz amazing that the very stuff that drive Life are all dead. no they cant be dead because they werent alive in the 1st place. y can they still work if they are non-living? enzymes are just polypeptide chains, yet they make Life possible by catalysing all our biological processes.

smtimes I wonder: in bio they teach us "this so-and-so is here because of that so-and-so". but then all we are explaining is how the different parts of a system are interdependent on each other, but exactly who put them there, we don't know.

we don't know how the first unicellular organisms mutated in such a way they suddenly became fishes and perhaps reptiles. is Darwin's theory really enuf to explain Life as we know it? thatz why the intelligent design supporters could cheng4 xu1 er2 ru4. cos we really cannot observe that occuring. I havent heard of fossilized microorganisms b4. are there?

can science and religion really be separated? of cos I dun really believe that some supernatural being created us out of mud, because I think it would be very difficult to create amoeba and bacteria out of mud. or maybe they were side pdts, like mud dissolving in water. but mud particles are a lot bigger than our microscopic frens arent they?

besides, how do we know the supernaturals look like us? and like pple pray to the Great Sage now, but b4 Wu Cheng En wrote Journey to the West, was there a Great Sage? was there a Buddha before the Great Shi1 Jia1 Mo2 Ni2? and what happened after he gained enlightenment? the story always stops there doesnt it? or do we use religion to provide a logical reason for everything we cant explain?

if there are supernaturals, how can they allow us to continue to destroy the planet? if Hou Yi is the Sun God, then why does he only take good care of planet Earth? if Chang-E is the Moon Goddess, then are there goddesses on all the other moons in our solar system? If there are supernaturals, where do they live? Do all of them, regardless of religion, live together? Do they communicate with each other? Can they speak each others' languages? What about ancient religions? where do such supernaturals go to after their religion vanishes?

If all who did good and gained enlightenment are spared from reincarnation, where do they get all the space to live? Is the celestial realm infinite? are people stuck with the face on their deathbed in the other world? or can they take on any age they like?

If all arnd us are virtual, what does the real look like?

    I seriously dunno.

and I dun think itz for me to know.

what will 2007 bring? I dunno. I dun see the point in squishing myself with hundreds of people to count down. to me, it is but another day. just like how our watches know no year or month, they just keep ticking away. just now my cousin-in-law Soo Wee said to me, "haha I really cant remember who you are, you must have looked really different 10 yrs ago when we first met!"  as usual my cousin Kelvin just kept quiet and smiled, like how he would always do, from the first day I knew him to be my cousin. in fact, I dun really remember what his voice is like, since he hardly talks. negligible speech. thankfully my cousin-in-law is more chatty. but poor cousin Ken was shunned to one side and became the pram-holder while everyone crowded arnd my cousin-in-law and baby niece. in fact, I think cousin Kelvin was pushed to one side too. haha. even with a daughter he still couldnt get himself under the spotlight. :) poor thing. the only reference made to him was "she has Kelvin's eyes!" "she looks just like Kelvin!" lolz.

ah well. countdown countdown. I got sick of countdowns a long time ago. I still don't feel very old, even tho' I already have a niece and another one on the way (my cousin Jason's child)... even tho' my cousins are getting married one after another, even tho' my baby cousins are like halfway through primary/secondary school. even tho' the guys in my cohort are going to serve NS soon. even tho' A levels are over and I'm waiting for results day. even tho' even tho' even tho' even tho'....

actually quite a lot has happened this year. I think.

    Asian Tsunami 2 year anniversay.
Saddam Hussein hanged (just yesterday or today morning I think)
the Chen Shui Bian scandal (heard the son-in-law just kenna thrown into jail)
    2 chopped-up corpse murders
    wettest December since 1896
first time Asian Games held in Doha (the opening ceremony was great. pity I missed the closing ceremony)
    change in JC syllabus
    A levels
most of us finally turning 18 (NOOOOO!!!!)
the ah How guy hung over the Huang Na murder (I still believe he's innocent)
Kofi Annan retires from UN council as Secretary General
the nuclear test thingie North Korea came up with
the railway to Tibet officially in use
2 major earthquakes hit Southern Taiwan (just a few days ago)
stupid mahatir decided to showcase his childishness yet again.
UN Secretary General taken over by some South-Korean guy
Liu Xiang broke the world record for 110m hurdles (12:88s)
Pluto kenna demoted to a dwarf planet
    Winter Olympic Games in Torino
Smuckers Stars on Ice Tour 20th anniversary (which was what got me hooked onto skating actually hehz.)
    the my paper thingie
some freaking guy claiming that Dream of the Red Chamber was written by Xue Qin's father, not Xue Qin. :S
the Sharon guy kenna coma or smth
    Lebanon and Israel crossfire
series of bomb attacks in Bangkok (why just today man!)
    military coup in Thailand
the weeshumin incident ("get out of [her] uncaring elitist face", or she might "kick you in the _____" to let you learn the "brutal truth" so that you'll stop being "a leech to society" :S)
    the massage palour issue

and a lot more la, just that I cant really recall them offhand. of cos there was quite a bit of unrest, even in Singapore, and that idiot Bush and dumbass Bian still havent been stripped of their posts as President. in fact, I think Singapore is in pretty bad shape, because we don't think there's a problem, which is a great problem by itself. gst going up (AGAIN THE DEM F****ERS), bus fare going up (i think) but service going down. customer service is literally non-exsistent, we are totally far away from our you1 ya3 she4 hui4 mind you. read in the papers last week: we are affluent, but not cultured. very very true. just look at tv mobile man, who was the dumbass who came up with it? hey if that was meant to earn you money you jolly well lower bus fares not increase it k. mediacorp still sucks to the core, 50% of the stuff shown are repeat telecasts, 35% idol shows (totally stupid), 5% low-class local production, 9.9% commercials, remaining 0.1% decent shows once in a blue moon. geez man why is my family paying $110 TV license to watch junk?

ok. enough complaining. New Year wishes for 2007:

    scholarship!! :D:D:D:D:D:D
beautiful A levels results slip as my 19th bdae present. :D:D:D:D:D:D:D
learn to skate! learn to make my own clothes! learn to crochet! learn Japanese! ^^
Creative AuraSeal earphones and a tablet! ^^
    WORLD PEACE!!!!
everyone I know will be strong and healthy
grow taller and thinner!! (if only I can translate my fats into extra height... :S)
everyone I know will be resilient in times of difficulty, calm in times of crisis and safe in times of unrest
to gain new knowledge and broaden my horizons (even if itz on YouTube :P)
find a job (tho' I'm not very willing to) and earn some MONEY BABY! (or I cant take up any courses... :'()
Dad can gain some weight (healthly) so I wont look so fat standing next to him
cousin-in-law Frances can deliver her baby safely
cousin Kelvin and cousin-in-law Soo Wee can give baby niece Victoria a sibling. :)
some study luck for cousin Natalie cos she's taking her A levels next yr.
for all the guys in our cohort to be safe and healthy during the course of their NS.
for baby niece Victoria to grow up strong and healthy ^^
for the world to be less battered by misfortune and disasters
for the world to be less polluted (including noise pollution)

of cos I wun mind striking the lottery... but not in exchange for any of the above, esp the A levels results one. :S

ok. HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE! may all of you be blessed! ^-^ woohoo!

    Merry Xmas!

    Merry Xmas everyone!

ok that is the only thing I want to say about christmas. :S paiseh la I dun celebrate it hehz. for the 2nd time in 10 yrs, our heater died again! it started spewing hot water when my dad turned it on haha.

raaa I've been waiting all week for So You Think You Can Dance, then itz cancelled bcos of Christmas. grrrrr. ah well. shld be thankful itz not GetBackers that got cancelled hehz. ^^ KAZU-CHAN!!!! BAN-CHAN!!! ^^ ^^ ^^ ^^ ^^

oooh my Chinese blog is finally back to normal again. so to play safe I decided to change the blogskin hehz. the only downside of the new skin is that the font is a bit small, but heck, I think itz still legible.

I am still addicted to YouTube, which has quite a fair number of skating videos with Scott in them hehz. but more recently, I got addicted to this number: Georgia on my Mind. yea itz sung by Ray Charles. a moment of zen if you happen to be feeling stressed out. or if u happen to want to torture yourself with emo music.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uOP5MB3U3m0 This is the one Scott did in 1999 for the Stars on Ice tour.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Y19wIZ-LWk and this is the one Scott did in 1983 for the World Championships exhibition.

the 2 versions are slightly different, since I dun think Scott could do backflips back in 1983... and the 1999 version has a whole series of triple jumps nearing the end, very nice. the 1983 version was more of fluid movements... a bit recital-ish, but it was a really smooth performance, tho' Scott felt that he overdid it a little. ^^ his expression was sooo adorable when he said that! hahaha. ^-^ -teenybooperishbimbotic laugh-

and alright alright, since it is christmas after all...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XwalSZn0tNg 12 days of Christmas, by yes, Scott, for Disney on Ice. man I wonder where he got all that stamina to do everything at one shot. tho' I think he kinda bypassed the 6th day of Christmas, which is just gliding with one leg in the air. haha. but aww my Scotty is sooooo cute!! ^^

erm. for the people who bother to watch these videos, be patient, they might take some time to load. they load pretty quickly (at least for some of them) for me... but I guess itz bcos I watch them every other day. haha.

gosh I've been online since... this morning i think... :S crap shld be going off soon... will be back with more ice skating videos! ^^

    Post A Levels Syndrome

one month has passed since my last paper. one whole freaking month. one year ago I was out at Orchard Road on this day. raa. I seriously think I'm suffering from severe PALS -- Post A Levels Syndrome. -_-" exams get to you.

You know you are suffering from PALS when:

    1) you suddenly feel like an unemployed youth.

    2) you feel that prom is as important as your wedding.

    3) you still wake up automatically at 6 in the morning for a fornight after the exams even though you still couldnt get to sleep at 3 in the morning.

    4) YouTubing becomes the most essential part of your daily routine.

    5) you alternate between feeling very ancient and very young.

    6) you get nightmares about exams and wake up thinking you're late for a paper.

    7) you take some time to register what do "A Levels" refer to.

    8) you do stuff in hope of reviving your long-lost childhood.

    9) you do stuff in hope of making up for what you couldnt do in that long-lost childhood.

    10) suddenly the programmes on TV don't seem that interesting after all.

    11) all the stuff you have intended to do after A Levels, you either forget to do them or you just don't feel like doing them.

    12) you are comfortable with just wandering around aimlessly.

    13) you alternate between not knowing what a TYS is and sudden urges to get out your TYS to do.

    14) for at least a fornight, you catch yourself saying things like "is that dy/dx = 0?" instead of "is that the max?" or "something is wrong with my negative feedback system" instead of "I'm pmsing".

    15) for at least a fornight, you find yourself speaking in Classical Mandarin/ Medevial English/ Scientific jargon/ Mathematical formulae involuntarily.

    anymore to add peeps?

    whee. lunch.

    AFV!!

I think I've severe writer's block. I couldnt even remember my username for my blog account. haha. anyway. AFV is good. everyone should watch AFV. esp if you're having cramps. just laugh laugh laugh for half an hr bao3 zheng4 your cramps will be laughed away. why watch it on youtube! who knows, you might laugh your way to a 6-pack! :)

there was this video with quadruplets (still little babies) who would laugh in sync. itz kinda funny, but slightly creepy as well, so I won't put the link up.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fk3le1wFTAU I think this is pretty hilarious. watch out for the 2 cats! but guys, don't get any funny ideas.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5EtQMA00enA and I recently got addicted to this song: Walk this way. (yes itz another ice skating video of Scott, but itz super cool. check out his footwork) If not for the commentary I would gladly use this song as my ringtone. But ah well, ended up using 'Hair' which is definitely loud enough even with my handphone sock on.

and for people who think I've abandoned my love for wushu. guess what?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5XPILGjYwzQ Xiang Dong's eagle claw routine!! forgive the "eagle claw boxing", dunno how the "boxing" came into the picture. and his name is pronounced as Xu3 Xiang4 Dong1, not Xu1 Xiang1 Dong1. :S

and yes I still love anime!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Jfrgt8Wi_E relive your childhood everyone!!! bdaman!!!! :D:D:D

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p1IjcWqOMkU and for people who just need something idiotic to watch. This is xu chun mei speaking English on Jacky Wu's show. dem hilarious.

ok I should go concentrate on my dinner. :) YouTube rocks totally.

    Sex Bomb

If you never thought much about figure skating, think again.

Change your whole perception of ice figure skating!!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BRMLVZq8v5Y Sex Bomb by Yevgeny Plushenko, Olympic Gold medalist at the 2006 Torino Winter Games. :) This was apparently his programme at the 2001 Figure Skating Championships. there's another one done in 2005, but that was pretty reserved, this one is nicer, in my opinion.

I miss my wushu. I miss my Lao Shi, I miss my sword my shoes my track pants my nike shirt my wushu shirt my yellow belt my green belt my shoe bag my sword routine my changquan routine my hongkah routine... everything about wushu. including the injuries the twists the sprains the scoldings the punishments the laughter the sadness the anger... everything.

when will I be able to train again?

    probably never.

"I was alright, over you. I was oh so fine
then I saw you last night, you held my hand so tight...
when you stopped to say hello.
you wished me well. you couldnt tell...
that I've been crying over you
    crying over you...
    then you said so long
    left me standing, all alone...
    alone and crying...

I thought that I, was over you. but it's true oh so true
I love you even more, then I did before
but darling what can I do?
    for you don't love me...
    and I'll always be...
crying... over you... crying... over you...
and yes, now you're gone, and from this moment on
I'll be crying... crying... crying... crying...crying...
    Crying...
    Over... you..."

yea Ukele sang this before, but I dunno who the original singer is. not sure which song is more erm. heart-wrenching, this one (Crying) or fen1 gu3 rou4 (Hong Lou Meng -- Tan4 Chun1 yuan3 jia4). haish. I was bloghopping just now, and yea realized people usually blog about philosophical things (like Chao Jie) or about the interesting things they've encountered (like Sam). then I thought, hey why don't I blog about these stuff anymore? my blog seems more like a complaint centre. o.0 and when I'm not complaining, I'm doing weird stuff like teeny-booper-bimbotic entries or documentary-like entries (like the previous one)

haha. Jin Hao once said that I was very atypical (placing careful emphasis on the 'a'), dun like to shop, dun like to hang out, likes doing eccentric things like trying to coop myself up at home for 2 consecutive months (in the end only managed one because school reopened :() hmm. maybe I am 'atypical' as he said. but then again, what would be 'typical'? -shrugs- guess I forgot to ask him.

anyway, I was YouTubing (again) and started watching Scott skate after the Plushenko Sex Bomb video. then for some reason I got pretty emotional after watching his free skate of the 1984 Olympics. cos I know he wasnt feeling well, what with the ear infection that affected his balance. yet he still went out onto the ice and did his programme like nothing was wrong. in fact, only one/two of his team mates knew about the ear infection cos he didnt want it to be public. and that was so cute of him, not wanting to earn 'sympathy' votes or make excuses for himself. tho' there wasnt really much of a need, he still skated beautifully and took the gold medal. this is, I emphasize once again, unlike a CERTAIN top seed female table tennis player who only knows how to shift the blame when it was clear she didnt get herself into the competition mood.

and... I dunno. haha I thought he looked pretty thin and frail on the rink. :) then I thought about how he spent those years of his childhood going from hospital to hospital not knowing what and why he was ill and not growing, the different diets (including starvation to try to starve him into growing again, weird logic) and there was one photo of him when he was about 6, smiling with this tube thing under his nose, you know. the kind you see for patients in coma. the thin little plastic tube. then I looked back at his Olympic performance, esp the last part where some guy (I think it was his coach) pushed him back out onto the ice because the crowd, not satisfied with giving him a standing ovation, was roaring for an encore. and there he was, this tiny little guy, being jostled around by people who were towering over him, yelling "Go! Go! Go on Scott!"

haha... I'll remember that expression for a long time. in Singlish, it was a "huh? really ah? can go anot? you sure? dun sabo me leh! sure? sure ah!" look. kawaii!! ^^ and... yar. I just cant help thinking that he's really such a brave guy... and oh so cute!!! not the pinching-cheek kind, but not the Takuya Kimura type either. itz just a... letz put it this way: A mom sees this little kid in a grocery store, and jokes with the kid's mom "Oh he's so cute! can I take him home?" yar that kind of cute.

lalalalala~ in case you were wondering, yes I do have a higher tendency to go mad over stuff and people at the end of the year. hmmm. must be the monsoon weather. ^^ cold weather tends to make me feel a bit more (ok fine much more) emotional, but mostly melancholic. oh shit I realized I've been blogging for the past 2 hours haha. anyway. random statement: "WATCH GET BACKERS!!!" yar itz an anime series. yar I prefer watching the anime because you can hear the characters talking. which is a good way to distinguish between them because some characters have a tendency to look alike. it is also a good way to tell which character's male/female. :) think (for those of you who have watched/read GetBackers) Kazuki, who looks female but is actually a male. Ohhhhhh KAZUKI!!!!!!! :D:D:D:D

ok letz move away from my dear Scott for a while, cos I want to talk about GetBackers!!!!!! lolz on Thurs' episode right, Amano Ginji was so dem farni! like he's the Thunder Emperor of the Infinite Castle so the logical assumption is that he should know his way around right? even tho' he left a few years ago. anyway. he was with this Akabane guy, who reminds me of the Phantom of the Opera, just that Akabane uses blades and is way way cooler than the Phantom. ok. so Akabane suspects for the nth time that they were lost and goes "Ginji-san, are you very very very sure we're not lost?" then Ginji, having been reduced to a profuse sweating Q-version, denies (imagine little flapping arms) and excuses himself to the toilet so that he could run away. yar so the moment the door closes, Ginji (back to his normal version) runs and runs and runs and even jumps down a lift chute (obviously the lift wasnt working) before coming to a panting stop.

Ginji: (gloats) heehee... I should be safe now right?
    Ginji: (whispers shakily) Akabane-san?
    Akabane: haik?

-plonks- Ginji reduced back to Q-version with the rivers of tears expression and moans "Ban (Mido Ban, the other main character)... help me... I don't think I can take this any longer..." but anyway, his silly aimless running proved to be quite useful cos it took them (ie Ginji and Akabane) to the place they were looking for (but unfortunately got lost in the process). yeah.

wootz. another emotional rollercoaster. I hate emotional rollercoasters. ah well for all I know this might just be a simple case of PMS. was very low just now but slight high now. heehee. ok one last teeny-booper-bimbotic comment before I force myself to end this entry: Scott is so dem charismatic even with his bald shiny head (remember the cancer?) Scott sarangheiyo!!!! ^^ ^^ ^^ ^^ and Kazuki too!!! :D:D:D:D

freak 2 and a half hours of blogging. :P <-- sheepish grin

    God of the Ice Rink

There are probably 2 kinds of people in this world. The first kind of people are ordinary law-abiding people like you and me who live to be inspired by others. The second kind of people are those who are also law-abiding and otherwise ordinary-looking but essentially live to inspire others. 4-time World Champion and Olympic Gold Medalist Scott Hamilton would belong to the second category.

I was watching some ice-skating programme the other day after the re-telecast of the dismal performance of a certain top seed female table tennis player in the match of Singapore against North Korea. well actually the ice-skating programme was a re-telecast as well, but thatz not the point. It was about the 20th anniversary of the Smuckers Stars on Ice Tour. and the founder is, you guess it, none other than Mr Scott Hamilton himself.

Born in 1958, Scott (forgive me I'm trying to sound endearing here) was adopted when he was only 6 weeks old, and mysteriously stopped growing when he was around 3 (some sources state 5). The actual reason was never really diagnosed but anyway he mysteriously started growing again when he was 9 (around the time when he started skating). Unfortunately (or should I say fortunately), Scott never managed to catch up with his peers. Probably a blessing in disguise, his height (or lack of it), was an assert to his figure skating, making him an extremely fast and agile skater. He was extremely athletic and versatile on the ice, accomplishing not only stunts like three triple axles (ie 3 triple axles in a row), but highly difficult ones like back flips (BACK FLIPS OK) as well. Spins, flips and jumps aside, his intricate footwork was also... WOW (sorry cant think of a better word).

Despite his tiny frame of 5 foot 3 inches (ahem yes I know I'm shorter than that :(), Scott Hamilton stands tall on the ice (and off it for that matter). His comic flair and innovation make his routines a pleasure to watch. Itz smth new every time.  For instance:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SW8HFd6Ixqc (Hungarian Rhapsody)
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-x9DKvPs3Pc (Hair)

For the record, he was still doing backflips (even consecutive ones) all the way into his late thirties. wootz. and god bless YouTube. ;)

actually what I like so much about his routines (or numbers, whatever you call them), are that the moves are so in sync with the music. as in, the moves fit so perfectly with the music itz almost as if the song was written specially for the routine, rather than the routine being cheographed to fit the music. you get the picture.

ok on to the 'inspire' bit (yes that was just a warm up). as mentioned previously, Scott suffered from some unknown weird illness that stopped him from growing for quite a number of years. His small frame made him the target of teasing from his peers, who taunted him as being a sissy for doing figure skating (you see, 30 years ago, figure skating wasnt that popular with guys). It also posed as a great challenge against judges who didn't like him because they thought he was too short to compete internationally (oh the narrow-minded jerks). But Scott overcame all of that and became the first American (correct me if I'm wrong) to win 4 consecutive World Championships from 1981 to 1984. And no he didn't lose the 5th one, he just didn't take part, having switched to the professional competitions.

    Resilience my friends!! :D

yar then he did face many other setbacks, like how he lost his job (as a skater) after his previous boss had left. yar basically they said they didn't want male figure skaters. so lo and behold, the Smuckers Stars on Ice Tour was born! (ok the details have been removed because Inuyasha is showing soon) mhmm. then there was the testicular cancer which had spread to his abdomen before he realized what was going on, but thankfully that was cured. and shortly after that, Scott was diagnosed to have a brain tumour, which was thankfully, benign, and even more thankfully, removed safely.

despite all this crap, Scott never gave up. He was always the cheerful, optimistic and brilliant skater. He even set up his own foundation CARES, a non-profit organization that serves to educate and help people with cancer. A roaring difference from all the medical jargon you get with google that will only freak you out and kill you faster than the cancer cells do.

    As Scott once said:

"The only disability in Life is a bad attitude."

Hooray for Scott. He is such an inspiration. and (ok this is going to sound mushy) so beautiful. Beauty exists in many forms, and his radiates from within. seriously. at least we can see true sportmanship in him, unlike some top seed female table tennis player who only know how to give black face when she's losing a game. o.0 anyway, there's plently of videos of his performances (though hardly enough for me haha) on YouTube. His World Championship performances are a MUST WATCH.

absolute ice-skating wonder. God of the Ice Rink -- Mr Scott Hamilton.

ok. who wants to go learn ice-skating with me? :D <-- hopeful grin.

    Enthusiasm hardly pays off.

Firstly, the freakin' exams are finally freakin' over. I am currently in a very pissed off mood if not for youtube and my beloved wushu videos.

I never really liked people who were overly enthusiastic. as in those really crazy ones. so I hated being enthusiastic myself. cos enthusiasm hardly pays off. so thatz why I would avoid all class outings or class related stuff. cos I dun want to get emotionally involved and then make the parting so painful.

as such, I dunno what got into me when I offered to do a photo ppt for the class. ah well. and I thought the response frm the class would be quite good since I'M the one doing this (you know, me being me, anti-social freak, u get the picture). but yet. only a few people actually responded. and the sad thing is, the people who responded are those who, like me, had exams all the way until yesterday due to bio. therefore, I would like to thank the following:

Sam, Jiahui, Li Xuan, Chung Ee and Wei Ling.

and the best part is, Jiahui hasnt even FINISHED her exams. so thx Jiahui. thx thx thx thx thx. ok I know there's the possibility that the others don't read their email, but... just let me make a balant assumption that the class cant be bothered and just let me be a whiny brat for a while.

like hello. all I want is just to do smth for the class. woah like JX is actually THINKING abt doing smth for the class when all she does is to pour cold water on every class outing thatz being planned. not to mention ponning mass civics and contact time at every available opportunity. and how can I forget, refusing to pay bio funds and sch funds (think handbk money, sports carn money, all a waste of money n resources if u ask me). ohoh and utterly REFUSING to go for class chalets. u know, Jx the big miser, where paying $3 and $15 does not account for a difference becos itz still MONEY. Jx the anti-socialist, who thinks that class outings are a huge waste of time when she can lock herself up at home and pretend to be claustrophobic. Jx the pessimist, who feels that being born in S'pore was a huge mistake and that S'pore (and the world) is going to be destroyed at the hands of people who go arnd telling others that "Life kicks you in the *****" and to "get out of [their] uncaring elitist [faces]". like WOW. Jx must be totally out of her mind to actually WANT to do smth for the class when she hasnt freaking cared abt the class for the past 2 yrs!

well yar now that you've mentioned I do feel like some stupid dumb ass. and yar forgive me for being in such a pissed off mood even tho' A levels are finally damn it over.

ok I've finished whining. I will not mention this anymore. but my dear cg (no I'm not being sarcastic. ok, I'm trying not to) PLEASE for heavens sake just cooperate with me this very one time can?

oh freak the 10pm show has already started! to all who have finished exams, enjoy your break. to those who havent, jiayou, the bloody thing will be over b4 you know it. :)
